The Great Tat Pact
THE GREAT TAT PACT
I taught English for 23 years and am Facebook friends with many former students. People bash Facebook, but I love keeping in touch with my 'kids' and seeing the fabulous grownass people they've become. Their support and encouragement in my author's journey is truly humbling. One of them, Maddie, tagged me on a tattoo post: I popped up as a person to get a matching tattoo with. She jokingly suggested a pie in honor of the upcoming book.
I don't have a single tattoo. Honestly, it was daring for my generation to get my ears double pierced. But I am a changed woman in my sixties, and I do things now that I've never done before. I get these ideas and think...why the hell not? I sent the first ten pages of my book off to the publisher with that very thought in my head and look where THAT got me.
Anyway, I wrote a Facebook post wondering if anyone would get a slice of pie tattoo with me if my book hit the top ten in any Amazon category. I figured the odds were pretty slim, but you never know...Y'all, people came through for me--14 of them! It boggles my mind.
I'm so blown away that I may get the dang tattoo just for the hell of it.
